CWC Los Angeles
Our Los Angeles schools are in strong demand: In 2015, we had seven times more interest than space, with over 2,500 applications for just under 350 seats, including 1,680 application for approximately 220 kindergarten seats.
On the 2014-15 Common Core aligned Smarter Balanced statewide assessment:
- All CWC Los Angeles schools outperformed schools across California and Los Angeles in English Language Arts (ELA) and Math, on average.
- All CWC Los Angeles "sub-groups" outperformed district-wide "sub-groups" in ELA and Math, on average.
- CWC Mar Vista’s first official standardized test results place the school among the top performers in Los Angeles.
Citizens of the World Hollywood’s last state achievement scores prior to 2014-15 (on the 2012-13 assessments) put it in the top 6 percent among all 850 public schools in Los Angeles; CWC Silver Lake is in the top third. CWC students are consistently exceeding state targets and performing at a higher level of academic achievement than students at neighboring LAUSD schools.
The 2012-13 school year was the third year of CWC Hollywood student achievement data, and prior to 2014-15 the last year with publicly available state assessment results. CWC Hollywood earned an API of 912, well above the state benchmark of 800. This ranking places CWC Hollywood in the top 6 percent of all schools in the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD).
The 2012-13 school year was the first year of CWC Silver Lake student achievement data, and prior to 2014-15 the last year with publicly available state assessment results. CWC Silver Lake earned an API of 821, beating the state benchmark of 800. This score ranked CWC Silver Lake in the top 28 percent of all schools in LAUSD – outperforming nearly three-quarters of the public schools in Los Angeles.
CWC Kansas City
The 2018-19 school year will be the first in which CWC Kansas City’s schools participate in statewide assessments.
