Our National Board

CWC Schools is led by a highly accomplished Board of Directors who are committed to supporting far-reaching school reform designed to drastically improve public education.

Our Board members offer expertise in a wide range of subjects, including leadership development, human resource management, fundraising, and organizational growth. The engagement and dedication of our Board continues to be integral to the growth and success of CWC Schools, allowing us to serve hundreds of students each year.


Bryan Ungard

Mr. Ungard is the Chief Purpose Officer of The Decurion Corp. Bryan is accountable for the ways in which Decurion operates its businesses so that there is no tradeoff between excellent business and the flourishing of people, places and society. Bryan joined Decurion as its Chief Information Officer. He received his bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Hiram College and his Masters of Business Administration from the University of Michigan. He has studied human development and consciousness through many lineages and traditions. Bryan also holds a 2nd degree black belt in Aikido.

Founding Board Members

Mark Gordon

Mr. Gordon is a founding board member of Citizens of the World Charter Schools, in addition to being the founder and honorary Chairman of the CWC Hollywood Board of Directors. He is an Emmy, Golden Globe and BAFTA winning producer with more than 75 motion picture and television projects to his credit. Mr. Gordon was nominated for an Academy Award for best picture for Saving Private Ryan.  Mr. Gordon is the President of the Producers Guild of America and serves on the boards of the Virginia Film Festival, The Archer School for Girls and The Motion Picture and Television Fund. He has served on the boards of The Holocaust Documentation and Information Center, The UCLA Lab School, and Chrysalis. He is a former chairman of Teach for America Los Angeles. Mr. Gordon is a graduate of the New York University Film School.


Christopher Forman

Mr. Forman is a founding board member of Citizens of the World Charter Schools, in addition to President of The Decurion Corporation and CEO of its subsidiaries. From 1994 to 1996, Mr. Forman served as a director of Score Learning Corporation, a company that operated storefront, interactive learning centers where young students used computers to improve their reading, writing, math, and science skills. Mr. Forman also founded The Wonder of Reading, a nonprofit educational organization designed to inspire the love of reading in children. The organization partnered with local public schools to construct and supply over 200 libraries in the Los Angeles region. In 2004, the Getty House Foundation commended Mr. Forman with its City of Angels Helen Bernstein Award for his innovative and creative efforts to improve the quality of education in Los Angeles. 


Cam Starrett

Mrs. Starrett is a founding board member of Citizens of the World Charter Schools. She has had a distinguished career as a human resources professional, beginning her career with Federated Department Stores, where she rose to the senior human resources position. Following this, Mrs. Starrett was human resources head at Avon Products, Maxwell McMillan Publishing, and finally Nestle USA. Mrs. Starrett is a lifelong literacy advocate, serving on the Reading is Fundamental Board from 1995 to 2006, as well as on the board of Catalyst, a non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of women; Wildlife on Wheels, a traveling educational group in the Los Angeles area; and The Conference Board. Mrs. Starrett also served as Board President of The Wonder of Reading.
